HOW TO SCHEDULE AN MRI

General Information
You can schedule patients for an MRI exam by calling 1-800-852-4487 between the hours of 7:30 AM and 7:30 PM, Monday through Friday. When you call, we will ask for the following information:
Patient's Name
Patient's Date of Birth
Patient's Home and Work Telephone Numbers
Area(s) To Be Scanned
Diagnosis/Symptoms
Are There Any Recent X-rays Available?
The more specific the information, the more efficient and productive the MRI exam. Hospital inpatients will be scheduled, as for any other diagnostic exam, in accordance with your hospital policy and procedures.
PLEASE NOTE that a physician's signed written order/script is required for all patient exams!
Patient Screening
When you have scheduled the patient's scan, please let the patient know that we will be calling them to confirm their appointment. When we call the patient, we will ask a series of questions about their medical history and insurance coverage. Please be sure to tell the patient about this procedure before they leave your office. You can also direct your patients to visit our website (www.mvhs.org) to review the "Patient Information" section.
Results
Final exam results will be transcribed following dictation and will be promptly forwarded to the referring physician. We generally turn around reports in no more than 48 to 72 hours.
Insurance
If the patient is insured by a company that covers MRI services, we will bill the insurance company. If the patient does not have insurance, or has only partial coverage, we will contact them and work out a payment schedule. No patient will be denied our service because of inability to pay.
