Before healthcare cost containment and shared services became a trend in healthcare, the Merrimack Valley Health Services, Inc. consortium (MVHS) was formed.  The members:  Anna Jaques Hospital, Lawrence General Hospital, and Saints Medical Center came together to offer the physicians and patients of Merrimack Valley high-quality local access to cost-effective magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) services.

• The powerful, flexible architecture of our 1.5 MRI provides superior images and leading-edge techniques.

Advanced Imaging Capabilities Include:

• Magnetization Transfer Contrast (MTC) for improved MRA and visualization of articular cartilage and CNS lesions.
• Breath-hold capabilities for dramatically improved abdominal and pelvic imaging. 

• High performance gradient system for superior image quality.

• Advance imaging sequences including:   Turbo Spin Echo (TSE), Gradient And Spin Echo (GraSE), and Cardiac Gating.                                                                           

Differential Diagnosis For Your Most Difficult Cases:             

• Extended spine studies allow for screening of the spine for cancer or other causes of cord compression.
• MRA of the carotid arteries from the arch to the bifurcation can now be performed with the extended head and neck coil.
• Wrap-around coils optimize visualization of both the glenoid labrum and the rotator cuff in shoulder imaging, historically difficult anatomy to view in MRI.
• Body applications, including liver, kidney, biliary system, male and female pelvis, bladder, and pancreas, now can be non-invasively diagnosed with MR.
• Small anatomy abnormalities, such as ankle and wrist lesions, can now be well-defined.
